WHAT Personal Data Do We Collect and WHEN?

We ask you for certain personal data to provide you with the products or services you request. For example, when you make a purchase, contact our consumer services, request to receive communications, create an account, participate in our events or contests, or use our Platform.

The personal data we collect includes:

• contact details including your name, telephone number, email, shipping and billing address;

• your marketing preferences and your consumer preferences and habits.

We use your personal data to fulfil our contractual relationship with you and provide you with the requested product or service on our Platform as follows:

• Process and fulfil orders and transactions in connection with our eCommerce services;
• If you make a purchase on Converse.com or participate in an event or promotion, we will use the contact information you give us to communicate with you about the purchase, event or promotion;
• If you contact our consumer services, we will use information about you, such as delivery or payment information, or the product you have purchased to help you resolve a problem or question;

Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent to send you marketing communications about our products and services launches, offers and promotions, and invite you to events and surveys that are tailored to your interests. If you are an existing customer of Converse (for example, if you have placed an order with us), We may use the contact details you provided to send you marketing communications about similar Converse products or services where permitted by applicable law (unless you have opted-out). In other cases, We ask for your consent to send you marketing communications and news concerning Converse’s products, services, events and other promotions that may be of interest to you. You can opt-out at any time after you have given your consent by following the opt-out instructions included in the marketing communication we send you.             Interest-Based Advertising

On our Platform, We may obtain information about your online activities and about your use of Converse’s Platform to provide you with personalized advertising or emails about products and services that are tailored to your interests and that may be interesting for you. In doing so, we may combine the information that you provide to us with information that we create about your online activity. Where required by applicable law, We will obtain your consent to conduct these activities.   

You may also see our ads on other websites, such as our partner’s websites, because We use third-party ad services. Through these ad services, We can show you ads that may be tailored to your individual interests. These ad services may also track your online activities over time and across multiple websites and apps by collecting information through automated means, including through the use of cookies and other similar technologies. The information ad services may collect in these cases includes data about your visits to websites that serve advertisements, such as the pages or ads you view, the actions you take on the websites or apps, and device information. If you use our Platform as a logged in user or provide your email address to us, for example, at the

time of a purchase, the combined data (your guest and logged-in user information)  will be saved on a profile that We maintain about your account and about your online activity. We will also combine this data with the information you provide to us to be able to track the effectiveness of our marketing efforts and personalize your experience subject to applicable law.

SHARING of Your Personal Data

We share your personal data with:

• other entities within the Converse group for the purposes and under the conditions outlined above;
• service providers (such as hosting providers, consumer services providers, customer data platform providers and marketing and campaign agencies), who process your personal data to offer support services, information technology platforms and marketing services on our behalf. When using any service providers we enter into agreements that require them to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data; and
• third-party targeted advertising providers that provide personalization tailored advertising services to us. We use such services to tailor advertising to your interests on the Internet, including social media, as permitted by applicable law. You may opt-out as described below.

 

Furthermore, We may also disclose your personal data to trusted third parties:

• where this is necessary to protect the security or integrity of our databases or our Platform;
• where this is necessary in the context of legal proceedings (for example relating to the distribution of counterfeit or unauthorised products) and to take precautions against legal liability;
• in the event of a sale, merger, reorganization, change of legal form, dissolution or similar event and/or to a potential or actual successor to us, where permitted by applicable law; and

If We would like to share your personal data with third parties, other than those described above, We will always obtain your consent where required.

TRANSFER of Personal Data

As Converse is a global company, the personal data We collect (or process) may be stored in and transferred to the USA and other countries. Some of the data recipients with whom Converse shares your personal data may be located in countries other than the country in which your personal data originally was collected. The laws in those countries may not provide the same level of data protection compared to the country in which you initially provided your data. Nevertheless, when We transfer your personal data to recipients in other countries, including the USA, We will protect that personal data as described in this privacy policy and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Where personal data is transferred within Converse entities, We use an intragroup data transfer agreement.

Your personal data will be retained for as long as is necessary to carry out the purposes set out in this privacy policy (unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law).

In general, this means that We will keep your personal data for as long as you keep your Converse account. For personal data related to product purchases, We retain this longer to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and sales laws and for warranty purposes).

Where technically feasible, We will help you export the personal data We process based on a contract with you or your consent and help you transmit this information to another company.
